St. James Town, located in the heart of Toronto, sits between Bloor Street to the north, Wellesley Street to the south, Sherbourne Street to the west, and Parliament Street to the east.
It is located in Ward 28, and is Toronto’s most densely populated neighbourhood. It has over 19 high-rise towers that house some 26000 low-income families and recent immigrants to Canada. It is a diverse neighbourhood where over 150 different languagesare spoken.
The Café began in the summer of 2011, when a group of local residents, organizations and interested individuals began working towards building a more inclusive community through healthy, affordable food and meaningful engagement.
Everyone is invited to help us create a space in the St. James Town neighbourhood where people from diverse backgrounds can connect over local, organic and /or fairly traded food, made available on a Pay What/How You Can basis.
