Thank you for signing up with the St. James Town Community Cafe! Welcome to our monthly newsletter that let's you know about our upcoming events, and provides a healthy delicious recipe! As you may know, we are a social enterprise engaged in building community and providing healthy, delicious, food in St. James Town. In addition to hosting cafe events, we hold workshops, trainings, film screenings, and more.

This month we have three exciting opportunities:

1. October 4th - Community Co-Op Forum and Cafe

2. October 11th Farm Tour

3. We're Hiring!

1. October 4th Community Co-Op Forum

When: Saturday October 4th from 1:00pm-4:00pm

Where: Wellesley Community Centre Room A

What: We're starting a community co-op in St. James Town and we want your input! Together we'll talk about:

* What is the St James Town Community Café?

* What is the St James Town Community Co-operative?

* What could this Co-op do for you, your family, and community?

* How could the uplift time credit exchange help build community

* How can you get involved? Become a member/owner?

* How can we get more healthy food for happier families and a stronger community?
   Healthy food and drinks will be served (pay what you can)
                                Children Welcome


2. October 11th Farm Tour:

meadow sweet farm  Spend the day with us on Saturday October 11th, and visit two organic farms!

  Pay What You Can 

  Lunch Provided

  We will visit the AfriCan Food Basket farm, and Albion Orchards. A great weekend activity for the whole family!

  Trip includes pumpkin and apple picking!

 3. We're Hiring!

Live in St. James Town? Have experience working in/with a cooperative? We want to hear from you!

The Café Co-op Developer will oversee the development of a community co-op, including a food buying project and the St James Town Community Café. The co-op developer will be responsible for collaborating with Café, LIFT and partner organizations to support the incorporation and development of a community co-op in St. James Town.

We're always looking for more volunteers and cafe members! If you see an event above that you want to volunteer with, please email us with "Volunteer" in the subject line. If you'd like to become a member, which includes coming to meetings, and being part of the decision making, email us with "New Member" in the subject line and we can let you know when the next meeting is.
